Lola’s Cupcakes | London’s Guilty Pleasure

I’ve read about this English sensation for ages. They’ve been around by 2006, when friends Victoria Jossel and Romy Lewis began selling cupcakes from their homes. A smash hit, they moved to a Primrose Hill commercial kitchen, and after a … Continue reading

My Experience in the Recipe Incubator | La Cuisine Paris

Baking by the Seine

The talented Melanie from Feed Your Awesome Machine invited me to attend a recipe tasting session, so this past Monday I happily metro-ed over to the Quai de l’Hôtel-de-Ville to La Cuisine Paris, ready to whip up some delicious goodies.

The amazing Mardi Michels from the blog eat. live. travel. write. led the recipe testing. We made madeleines with milk and dark chocolate, as well as langue de chat. I had a such a good time baking with Louise from Australia and Melanie – go Team Milk Chocolate! We got to take home the goodies afterward, which made the experience all the sweeter.

Thank you to Melanie, Mardi, and co-owner of the beautiful La Cuisine Paris, Jane Bertch for the lovely afternoon!

Happy Monday! Café Gourmand on My Mind

 “On prend un café?”

My answer to this is always “oui!”  I am always up for coffee.  What makes a little caffeine even better is if it’s accompanied by something sweet.

My favorite dessert, apart from the moelleux or mi-cuit au chocolat, is the café gourmand.

café gourmand is a “culinary concept aiming at proposing an espresso and a bunch of mignardises at the same time, served on the same plate.”

My favorite goûter: the café gourmand

If you can’t decide which dessert to pick, pas de souci (no problem). Just order this winner; you can have your cake and eat it, too!
