3 Reasons to Visit Paris in March

I can’t believe it’s already March already! But it’s all right, because there is so much to do this month. The half marathon kicked it all off.  Here are my three reasons to visit Paris in March:

I'm always one of the last to leave a good party!

At Cocktails and Conversations in a private (yes, private!) home in the 17e arrondissement. I’m always one of the last to leave a good party!

1. I am most excited for Sinfonietta Paris Chamber Orchestra’s Cocktails and Conversations concert series, held at 8 p.m. on March 6 & 7 at the Institut Finlandais in the 5th arrondissement.

For those of you that haven’t attended one of these fantastic soirées, I recommend booking your ticket now by sending an email to {reservations@sinfoniettaparis.org} to reserve your seat. Held in private residences and spaces in Paris, the concerts showcase young professional musicians hailing from the best conservatories and music schools in the world (i.e. Juilliard, Conservatoire National de Paris, etc.).

After the 50-minute concert, there is a fabulous reception with cocktails, wine, and hors d’oeuvres, where there is time to meet and socialize with fellow concert goers and – the best part – the musicians. You can ask them questions about what being a young professional musician today entails, how they got to where they are, and what a day in the life of a young artist is like. It’s rare to be able to do these meet and greets with classical renowned musicians, plus it’s incredibly interesting to hear what this rare lifestyle is truly like.

The music is beautiful, the energy is buzzing, and the Château de Beau-Site wine is phenomenal. (Wow – can you tell how much I love these events?) I’ll be there, and hope to see you there, too!

How gorgeously rustic is this Parisian apartment in the 1e arrondissement?

2. International Women’s Day! See how the French and expat communities celebrate La Journée internationale de la femme, with events across the city.

3. The Brassaï exposition at l’Hôtel de Ville has been extended through March 29. His photographs are exquisite and capture the legend of Paris in the early 1900s.

If you come visit the French capital in the next few weeks, you’ve picked a great time to travel because all of  these  events  are  happening. For a more comprehensive list of the Paris happenings, check out Secrets of Paris’s calendar.

Have a wonderful March, everyone!
